Default best sound value?

i know the exhaust topic's been beaten to death, but i couldn't find any discussion on the merits of each based on SOUND & value, regardless of whether from engine note, exhaust, intake, etc. could use advice from you rs4 gurus out there.

checked out the gruppe m intake, tubi, gmg, etc...
1) which (either as part of a combination or by itself) will produce the best sound?
2) which do you consider the best "value"?

i won't define good sound, but let's just say that i ideally want machine gun noises and lasers with some subtle dragon's breath.

Default My opinions: Best sound: Tubi, Best Value: ECS H pipe with exhaust flap mod

Best combo of good sound and low cost: Milltek(it's on sale right now too)

That said I went with Tubi and love it. The sound was worth the premium for me.

Default For sound best Tubi, value agree remove resonator add H-pipe and may be deflap....

Milltek is a great value but again if sound is the premiere issue then Tubi but others are decent options. $ $ $ is the key

Default milltek $1900 - 15% / tubi $2200? doesn't seem like that big a difference...

if asked to quantify, would you say the tubi is 20-30% better at least? (i know this is subjective, but i think most RS4 owners agree on what sounds great)

tubi quote from: https://forums.audiworld.com/rs4b7/msgs/95534.phtml
milltek from their site.

Default Good luck finding it for that price. The price has gone way up due to cost of metal and $ vs €

The quoted price from http://www.tubistylena.com was $3440 as of 8/7/2008.

Maybe someone has some stock left over at the old prices but I doubt it.

Tubi is muffler only where Milltek includes resonators and I thought Stratmosphere was having a 20% off sale.

~$1500 vs ~$3400 is a huge difference IMHO.

For me I replaced a 2003 E39 M5 with the RS4. I had a Tubi on my M5 and loved it. I heard some sound clips of the Milltek and I liked it, but when I found out Tubi made an RS4 exhaust I knew that if I bought any other exahust I would regret it and the few sound clips I found on youtube confirmed it.

It's my opinion and 100% personal. Other's here might not care for the sound, or think the price is outrageous for just 2 mufflers.

Default also believe its because Stasis is the official suppliers of Tubi now and there is a battle ...

for the control on the sale of these exhaust, plus value of the Euro.

Default I heard RS4 running 10/10ths with Miltek res and downpipes and it was intoxicating..

I went to a track event yesterday and there were multiple RS4s. One of them had a full Miltek and the thing sounded mean. The non-Audi group I was with commented on how great the RS4 with Miltek sounded.

Default best sound *and* value has to be magnaflow

I know not everyone likes the tips... but that topic was not listed in the criterea.

~$800, with a true x-pipe design can't be beat for sound.

I find milltek the most tinny, tubi the most v8 like and my other favorite is gmg.

But honestly it's the RS4 that sounds good, so all the exhausts just make it better.

Default Re: best sound value?

For me the only value is whether you like the sound or not.
For sound, I like the Miltek. I looked at the others and yes, there were cheaper and shinier options but the low throaty sound of the Miltek is perfect. Not so harsh that it sounds like Ricer add on but a sweet deep growl.

Best way I can describe it is, after paying for the premium stereo option, since getting the Miltek, I no longer ever have the radio on :-)
