Follow the instructions that came with your garage door opener. For mine it was as follows. After my car learned my remote, I had to press the "Learn" button on the garage door opener and then press the button in the car until the garage door light flashed twice. A little tip. Make sure your neighbor doesn't drive by and open his garage while you are doing it, otherwise it may learn your neighbors remote. Happened to me and I found my garage door open the next morning. Had to wipe the garage door openers memory and relearn all my remotes. This time I made sure my neighbor wasn't anywhere close :-)

....it's a 2-step process for rolling codes. Actually it's a bit easier in the Audi than BMW, from my experience.
