Cold temps make getting into first is a battle. Anyone else? Or is my gearbox crap

Default Cold temps make getting into first is a battle. Anyone else? Or is my gearbox crap
I have to go to second, then first unless I really want to force it hard. No grinding of gears or anything, it just doesn't want to slide into first from a stop. Second goes smoothly.

This has been a slight issue from day one with my car, but with the cold it is really bad.

First and reverse are stubborn to engage, but zero issues when it's warm out(or the gear box warms up).

Default all of my Audis have been the same way...
albeit they were never in temps below, say, 40F

Default I have found many German MT cars are this way
BMW, Porsche, Audi. usually gets better as you rack up the miles.
