Default coolest thing ever!

Well not really but the coolest thing that I found for the RS today anyway..

I think that the RS4 have much to gain in a lighter flywheel and better clutch.<ul><li><a href="http://www.sachsperformance.com/EU/sachs-race-performance-clutch/audi/audi-a4-8ec-ab-1104/audi-rs4-neu/torsionsgefederte-scheibe-mit-organischen-2-2-211.html">http://www.sachsperformance.com/EU/sachs-race-performance-clutch/audi/audi

Not really good for the street but if you track the car - it probably is a good thing

as long as it does not rattle and has the same engagement as OEM, its a great mod.

has anyone determined whether the R8 clutch/flywheel is a bolt-on for the RS4?

Default Don't think so, nothing looks the same...

Thought of that to, but this don't seem like a very good match?

Default Maybe on a race car. "Motorsports only" means sucks on the street.

I drove a very similar (if not identical) Sachs clutch on a B5 RS4, and it was not fun on the street. Very arrupt engagement and chatter if you slipped it. Also super easy to stall the engine.

Default Most dry-sump clutches are smaller diameter...

because the sump is shallower and the motor sits lower. One reason the clutch on a wet sump motor like RS4 lasts much better than on the G car or R8 - much more friction material to work with, plus easier to get the torque with a bigger diameter. I don't think you would want to swap.

Anyone know if the R8 dry-sump parts fit the RS4 engine?

Default A lightened flywheel is great, but nowadays the problem is that the ECU...

doesn't necessarily let the revs drop as quickly as you would like. Emissions are improved if the engine revs vary more slowly, so the engine "hangs" a bit. You might not see the slick gear change possible in the dim past from this. If you can, my allowance savings are in for this!
