Default Damn, curbed a wheel. Repair or replace?

Called a couple places for repair. quotes were $150ish and $285(!).
Do the repairs look good and hold up? Don't want to spend a couple hundred on repair and then replace the wheel down the line anyway.

TIA

Default A good repair will look 98% original

You might ask your local wheel guy if he has a cash (no receipt) price or see if the dealer will hook you up with whoever they use.

I've alway thought people should do a group buy on a set of wheels on eBay and split them up for spares. But a set for $1000 and split them up. Almost everybody curbs a wheel at some point.

Default I replace a curbed wheel with new OEM for $395..

Well worth it IMO.

Had the other fixed for $100 and will keep it as a back up.

Default genuineaudiparts is the cheapest...but...

a repair that will be as good as new will only cost around $150

Default Same thing...

Curbed a wheel and got it fixed. Looked 98% as good as original and then about 2 days after it was on my car, I rashed it again on a rediculous curb at a new parking garage at work.

Now, I have left it and will repalce it with an OEM and fix it later for $200 and keep it as a spare.

Although, it's most often the passenger wheel that gets rashed due to these pretty little ladies having quite the fat A$$!

Default Depends on your attention to detail - you can get a curbed wheel repaired

but it will never look exactly like it did from factory. OTOH, you won't notice a real difference unless you tried to find the difference. I say, if you can fix it, then fix it and don't spend the extra on a new wheel. That's what I did. Hell, after a day of driving, any difference in pigment on the paint is lost with brake dust. Add on the fact that the front and rear wheels never look the same in terms of color unless you just washed it due to brack dust - then there's no real way to tell you had the wheel repaired unless you REALLY tried to compare wheels from the other side - almost impossible.
