Dealer called yesterday, my 2008 RS 4 is going into production next week
He told me he should have a VIN number before the end of the month and I should expect delivery by mid September.
I placed my order on June 21, so this is actually a little ahead of my expectations (October). I'm looking forward to actually seeing an RS 4 in person (first one sold locally here in Quad Cities Iowa, they had sold a 2007MY on e-bay).

It sure will be a tough wait, but this will end up being the shortest time I have ever waited for a car I ordered. The last two cars I ordered (2001 Z06 and 2002 C32) each took five months.
I'm just glad I will get it with a couple months to play before winter comes and I have to get some snow tires put on.
