I want something crazy loud. Does anyone make straights for the RS4?
Also, does anyone have the max decibel levels for the milltek system? I would want to know:
Non-res with flaps
Non-res without flaps
res with flaps
res without flaps
Ideally i want something loud but then I couldnt take the car to a couple of tracks so im still deciding.

Re: does anyone make straight pipes for the RS4?
i imagine this would be relatively simple for an experienced exhaust shop...i mean, they dont have to deal with anything but a clean bend and cut and some good gaskets
oh....and straight pipes are disgustingly loud..especially with a v8...you sure you want this?
sorry for not answerin the question though

I'm not sure a decibel reading is going to give you an accurate idea of how...
loud the car is. The shape of the wave will mean more than a decibel reading. I only say this because I was speaking with an Audi R10 tech at Sebring and he mentioned that the reason the R10 was so quiet was because it had a smooth sound wave that cancelled each other but the decibel readings werent as low as you would think. I guess i'm just saying that best bet is to try and listen to those systems out there first hand.

i need the decibel reading to make sure I dont get black flagged with the track.
if all the aftermarket exhausts are louder than 91db then im just going to go with the loudest possible.

Ahh, completely makes sense. If you go aftermarket non custom than...
have no worry. Even if the downpipes were now available that remove 2 of 4 cats and replace the other 2 with HF units AND you used a non res system with just straight through mufflers I cant see you violating any track regs. I have the setup mentioned above and have no probs at all. I know we have slightly different cars but with similar exhausts they should be similar as far as overall volume.

This will give you a very rough idea...
of what the 4.2 v8 will sound like with straight pipes. Keep in mind this is with NO pipes at and 2 of 4 cats still on the car (although HF units). I have a catback that usually is on the car but this is without it on. Cars are different but mine revs to 7600rpm and makes about 320whp so may sound similar to give a rough idea...

straight pipes video
