Saw this on ebay, if you notice the description it is a buyback.
"REASON FOR BUYBACK: CLUTCH/TRANSMISSION(HARD TO SHIFT INTO 2ND GEAR). PROBLEM SOLVED: REAPLACED SYNCRO UNIT (SYNCRO UNIT WAS DEFECTIVE). The reason other was check for title is because the buyback was completed under state buyback laws.
seems to me the price is a bit high considering they are selling someone problem car and used RS4s have sold for under 60k. What do you guys think?<ul><li><a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2007-Audi-RS4-NAVIGATION-PREMIUM-PACKAGE_W0QQitemZ150142092039QQihZ005QQcategoryZ43 902QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem">buy back RS4 on ebay</a></li></ul>

It is most likely fine...
The replaced syncro is not a big deal. Look at it this way, if you had purchased the car originally, it still would have needed the repair. This is a pretty simple repair.
There are some other things floating around out there that are far more difficult to diagnose, let alone repair. The car does carry the stigma of being a lemon, but again, I think it easily explained away although shocking that it could not be appropriately repaired within the lemon law deadline. Perhaps it was a parts delay??? The price is about right, although the '07's may fall a bit more with the '08's hitting the lots.

I am not sure if would call a tranny syncro repair simple, but no way should it have taken long
enough that the lemon law would have kicked in. thats why I am suspicious. Also the tires being worn in 6k miles makes me question what they original owner did with this car. Did he drive it in such a way to damage the syncro and perhaps mistreated the engine too. In any case if I were to take a chance, I definately would want a better deal.

Compete fluke and should have been sold at auction instead...
The current manheim report shows $61k - $66k not including fees for the 5 latest RS4 sales not including the one you posted above.
