Don't hate me - Anyone here feel guilty about RS4 MPGs vs the environment
I'm going back and forth with my conscience to see if I can drive something that gets same gas mileage as a Hummer.
Considering Blu-tec A4 when it arrives next year as an alternative.

I consider it my green car
It gets me from point A to point B quicker hence I'm not on the road as much.
In truth - I average 23-25 on the highway.

How can I hate someone who asks such a dumba$$ question here?
Seriously, if driven carefully the RS-4 will surprise you at how good the mileage is given the performance available.
Sounds like you need to buy the Blu-tec and go to another forum.

Not really...what about all those muscle car owners?
In my neighborhood, I'm surrounded by a bunch of old guys who have all resurrected old Camaros and Chevelles and the like. They get about 9 mpg, are gross polluters by any definition...and they couldn't care less.
Keep in mind: they're older, and should know better, right?
My position on driving V8 cars (albeit ones that get 20 mpg) is that if the government is so concerned about pollution and fuel costs, let them lead by example by first adopting hybrid vehicles FOR ALL government vehicles, even their SUV's.
As soon as they do that, I'll consider a hybrid myself.
Many politicians ride to work in limos and I should feel guilty about 20mpg in car that is better for the environment than cars of 10 years ago?

Drive a Prius if it makes you feel better but I think hybrids are a scam anyway. How much energy
does it take to make and dispose of those very toxic batteries that are in hybrids?

When driven with a light foot the RS4 actually gets better MPG than my 16v Scirocco.
The ones that should be guilty are the V8 S4 owners. They are off the mark a bit.
