DRL & City Light Write-Up
Here goes another near-pointless mod write-up. In this exciting installment, you can get rid of that bothersome yellow hue in your daytime running lights and city lights. BTW, I am updating the fog-light write-up to include the link to Hoen.<ul><li><a href="http://webpages.charter.net/parkhill/RS4/DIY/DRL&CLBulbChange.pdf">DRL and City Lights Bulb Change</a></li></ul>

thanks sparky. gonna do exactly that. got a link to the hoen fogs?...
...i couldn't find exactly the ones you used in previous write-up when i was hunting around.
so the only VAG-COM thing you did was defeat the side markers? i know me and wasabi tried to get it so DRLs and lows could be on, and that didn't seem possible (or necessarily desirable in my case.) but how does one kill the side markers? canadian code?

Here you go...
I used the XenonMatch H11 bulbs. You could use one of the others like XenonMatch Plus or Titanium but both of those bulbs are higher wattage. Although many AW'ers have ran higher rated bulbs without issue, I didn't want to take the chance of melting my fog housing or frying my wiring so I stuck with the XenonMatch.<ul><li><a href="http://www.hoen-usa.com/fog.htm">Hoen</a></li></ul>

Lest you mistake me for somebody who has even 2% of the skill of an average Audi tech...
May I introduce you to what I call the retard stick (wire with super-sticky tape on the tip wrapped with painters tape).

yet another great write up, thanks. what effect, if any, would result from removing....
...the city light bulbs altogether? I prefer the look of the xenons by themselves. At least the DRLs can be turned off, but AFAIK, the city lights can't be turned off independently (unless the high beams are on, of course). If you just remove the city light bulbs, will that generate an error code/light on the cluster?

I tihnk you will get an error code but
If you use the silver coated bulbs, they are so dim that it is almost as if you have removed the bulbs altogether. Now that you mention it, that sounds pretty good. Time to go dig through the garbage.
