Default Umm... Very possibly...

Going back to drive it later in the week. My plan was to keep the old girl or pick up a pre-owned RS4 and then add the RS5 to the stable once it comes out. The problem with the M3 is it's rwd. I'd prefer my sedan be awd. But if this car is as magical as the engine sounds... I dunno...

Default Thankyou for your opinion......

No car comparison is apples to apples.... especially when...
your biased owning one of the cars in the comparison. As i am, purchasing the other.

Compare the rs4 to the m3 or something more in its class... try and atleast make it "apples to oranges" rather than apples to pumpkins.

I love and respect both vehicles you speak of... but you are comparing 40k to 80k... i'm sure if bmw put another 35-40k in the 135i you would be singing a different tune. But whatever the case it's your opinion and i respect it. Just go easy on the 135i for the next few days until i sign the paperwork... then you can talk all you want.. until it gets software

It's a good choice really. BMW did their "homework"...again.

The ESP on my 335xi is just fine. Ever hear of turning it off? I did the same on the S4 (was worse)

Default i don't think an exhaust is going to have that effect...unless you remove the exhaust altogether.

it's apparently part of the ecu tuning....supposedly it's better for the engine longevity to warm up that way, even though it sounds like **** to most people. 'rough idle at startup' is one of the more common complaints on the 7 series forums.

Default Not this one...beat on it for a good 20 minutes....

still sounded sick. pulled the RS4 up beside it...M3 sounded better stock by a long shot.....

the old man's 760, doesn't sound that sweet, and i don't remember his old 750 sounding all that great.

I wanted to find something to bash in the new M, but other than the interior, I really could not.

Default i'm talking about idle from a cold start....idles rough, sounds like it's over-cammed.

as ESFO said, it sounds like a race car when cold-started. not very inspiring, but as I said, it's best for engine longevity. the one you drove may have already been warmed up.

Default Yup, even with an exhaust, once warm it sounds no more aggressive than an S4 with exhaust at idle.
