engine oil temp hit...

Re: lotta airflow through the course too
agreed and I am sure extra heat from pounding the trans and cluch doesn't help keep the engine cooler.
So should I call the local dealer and tell them about the experience of the high oil heat or not?

okay...
wh are you disagreeing with here, RI RS4 or me?
i know under what conditions oil/engine temp will climb rapidly.
i guess the question is whether you truly feel that something is out of the ordinary or not. one possibility is that your oil has suffered.
it may have had some significant viscosity breakdown under hard running at the track and friction would have then increased, with higher oil/engine temp as a result. the likelihood of this happeing on used oil with a lot of miles is greatly increased. didn't you say you're near your next 10k interval service?

maybe...
but the trans is under the car.
if you call the dealer one of 2 things will happen: they will tell you not to worry, or they will get on you about tracking it. it doesn't matter if the cars are meant to be tracked or not, expect some flak there...as they position themselves for future warranty issue with WAUGxxxxxx : )
i don't know what to tell you. if it was my RS4, i would consider just having the oil changed now, early. not an addtl oil change, but just one ahead of schedule. either way you're going to be at odds with future service intervals(the oil), so at some point you will have to go out of pocket.
or, you could just trust in RI RS4, who has the odds in his favor.
