The service advisor is going to have a flap motor ordered for my Friday appointment.

It could be something else but at least they will have the motor on the shelf.

Do they really call it a "motor"

The RS4 manifold flaps are actuated by a 2 vacuum diaphrams - one for each bank. The flaps in the 4.2FSI Q7 are actuated electrically (via solenoid I'm assuming). I don't see how the term motor applies to either.

had mine on about a month . dealer told me is was the after

marke K-40 that was installed. so they re-wire the whole thing and the lite came on again.

Make sure they check the TSB about the cracked/leaky Vacuum line too

Technical Background
Possible cause is a vacuum leak at the vacuum supply hose fitting for the Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) valve N316. The vacuum supply hose fitting is located underneath the center of the intake manifold.
