Looking at picking up either an S4 or RS4 cabrio. In my research Ive noticed that while the hp numbers are far greater in the RS4 (420) vs 340 in the S4 the torque numbers arent that much different.
Is is worth the extra money to go with the RS4? I have an S4 avant now so Im familar with the S4 ride and power and love every bit of it.

Buy my brothers RS4 Cab, Has even more power with Tubi exhaust, $3,200 and Gruppe M intake, $1,600. Also new HRE M40 wheels with PS2 275/35/19 tires, almost $7k. Car is in showroom condition with 4,400 miles. $50k

MMMmmmm.... tubi on a cab, now that would be sweet!
As to the question of the extra hp/torque, I would almost say if it is a question you have to ask, then the answer is probably no. There is nothing an RS4 will do that an S4 cannot do.
That being said, there is much more to the RS4 than a few foot-pounds. My favorite are the fender flares, but you also have the much crisper shifter, better steering, better suspension, bigger brakes, brake cooling ducts (that work), and an extra 1000 revs. And it is a fairly exclusive model, much more so than an S4 or an M3. All these things (and the SOUND with a tubi) add up to something that is pretty special to me. But these things may not mean much to someone else.

you said it perfectly...I think the exclusivity of rollin' in an rs4 is almost worth it in itself. Not to mention it's a bit of a sleeper! I've never drove an s4 so I cannot really compare the two. But the rs4 is no doubt a badass ride worth every penny.
