Default MONEY! MONEY! MONEY! That's what it's all about.........

All mechanics/delaers know whether a certain mod is linked to a certain failure of not. A chipped car with blown turbos SHOULD NOT have the turbos covered under warranty. But everyone involved knows that a fuel pump failure has nothing to do with the installation of coilovers, for example.

If, in the above example, you are denied warranty coverage on your fuel pump because you have coilovers, it is a simple move on the part of the dealer, Audi, or whoever, to do whatever they can not to dish out the money for the repair/part. Are you surprised? It's all about money.

If you have given your dealership $15000 cash business on aftermarket parts and labor, they are less likely to do this type of thing to you. It's all about money.

Modding cars is expensive, in many ways. It's not just the cost of the part. Do it right, including making sure you have all the contingencies in case things go wrong.

Whether it's worth the time and hassle of fighting this sort of thing is an individual decsion.

And remember, it's all about money.

Default I had the same exact problem with my B6. Make a long a story short my sub-frame was replaced after

over 1 month in the shop. Now I have a C6 A6 with a wheel gap the size of (let me not go there) but refuse to lower it because of what happened to my B6

Good luck..

Default honestly, my drivers seat bolster had a dye defect

obviously nothing to do with suspension...

but this same dealer sells stasis cars off the lot with a warrenty - so they are in good standing with the dealership.

Why isn't the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act helpful? Of course, you must do more than just cite it to the service department, but rather may need to file suit.

If the failure is not related to the modification, then you will win. And, I believe the burden of proof is on them to prove that the mod caused the failure. I would love to hear Audi explain why the chip mod caused the sunroof failure.

Default

It's not helpful bc it would cost me thousands in time off work to file suit.
