Default Get the Dension

I have a 2007 RS4.

I use the Dension. It works well. The best you can get with the RNS-e

go to enfigcarstereo.com ask them, they'll hook you up.

They have a ton of clips on Youtube.

It lets you use your iPod/iphone however you want. Playlists, listen to pandora, control via phone, control via steering wheel controls.

Default For SD Card users

This was a huge headache savor for me, so hopefully this comes in handy for everyone else. For everyone using SD cards, I found a way to rename all your MP3 Files to what they should be in seconds. The program is called godfather (download here http://www.jtclipper.eu/thegodfather/download.html ). I make playlists in iTunes (you can turn all your playlists to mp3 by burning virtual CD's in iTunes, google it or PM me) then copy all songs from a playlist I want and drag them to folders on my SD Card, then I scan those folders with Godfather program and click "Rename". Now all my songs in my folders on the SD cards have the file name correctly. So instead of "01 - Macho Man" you will have "Village People - Macho Man"...bad choice of song but you get the point. Works on 99% of songs I've tried it on, it's like Magic and makes using these damn SD cards a hell of a lot easier.

Basically my SD cards pretty much replicate the playlists on my iTunes and it only took me a few minutes to do it. Now when I update songs in iTunes I just convert them to MP3 and drag them to whichever folder I want them in and rename them one by one. Takes a few more minutes of my time but whatever...I barely listen to music anyway because I'm always turning it down to hear the car. Cheers!

This is exactly what I was describing as a PAIN!! Who wants to fool around with all those different programming tricks...and how the hell is that supposed to be safer than using your handheld? LMAO I really don't like these integrators...and you lose your CD Changer...no thanks!

Ya, I agree with the too many steps...but so far I've spent much less than an hour and spent zero dollars getting my playlists to replicate iTunes. Good enough for now.

If I ever get an iPhone I'll probably go through the trouble of installing the Aux cable. I also read that you can use the VAGCOM to disable the seatbelt chime and program the car be able to control the windows wirelessly with the key, hopefully all that is possible on the RS4. Anyone know anything about this?

Do you really think that we Audi "Enthusiasts" would be so careless to HOLD UP our Phones, WHILE driving stick shift when we see the FUZZ? Cmon bro!!! You gotta be kidding me!! No offense but I feel like I'm explaining this to my DAD! LOL You can go buy your $500+ A3 Radio if you wan't.....I'll invest that money in ripping out these BOSE speakers...and making my car sound like a mini-studio...and giving me some better road entertainment!!!
what's gaydroid? Is that the number one mobile phone platform in the world?

Anyway, you haven't addressed my questions for some reason. Can you control your iphone, while it is out of sight, with the steering wheel controls?

Because I get the sense that you can't. While I understand you don't mind just putting a playlist on, frankly that's a pretty ****ty option if you ask me. So if you want to change music, you need to hold your device in your hand correct? See, this is the thing that AUX sucks for.

I'm very proud of you being able to sync your phone with your home stuff...that's incredible. Of course it doesn't really sound like such a big deal to once a week sync your media card up with new additions to your music library.

I've used Apple computers since 1993. I have owned about 20. I'm not a hater. I have more apple products now than you (I can guarantee that). I'm not an apple hater. I'm a handheld change music with your phone while driving hater.

p.s. you're starting to look crazy with these crazy rants.

Yes it works great! and Yes I did disable the seatbelt chime in VAGcom and a few other settings...

Saki....is holding down Disc 6 and Disc 5 while driving and trying to type letters with your scrolling steering wheel a better option? LMAO!!! Sake you are the one who is sounding crazy!!! You change your songs at a STOPLIGHT!!!! LOL And its MUCH quicker than trying to SPELL an ARTIST name from one letter at a time on a STEERING WHEEL!!!! LOL Apple prouducts have come a long way since your 1993 Macintosh!!! and FYI iPhone is what CREATED your droid!!! LOL #1 selling really??? HAHAHA wake up bro! Did you see the stampede in Japan for the iPhone recently??

I think the whole point of the new iPhone 4S is the hands free capability of Siri.

For your information, there is no 'holding CD 6' etc. when you use the SD cards. This is what makes it clear you haven't a clue what I'm talking about.

It appears you are the Apple stereotype that people love to hate - blind to anything else but Apple products, and in this instance too dumb to use anything else (you clearly never figured out how to load songs on to the SD cards, because if you had, you'd know there's no typing required...you just scroll through the artist folders, and can choose to play all from an artist (or playlist) play it shuffled, or play a particular song and you can control the next/up/down etc. with the STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS).

You're also unwilling to engage in any sort of constructive conversation about alternatives, or to even shed light on the strenghts or weaknesses of your Apple products.

All the best with your car. You're clearly clueless about what we've been talking about all along and I think it's best I just put you on full time ignore mode.

p.s. hey ****FORBRAINS...my Apple LC475 that I bought in high school in 1993 was the first of about 10 apple desktops and 6 apple laptops I have purchased since then including the iMac and MacBooks that I use at home today. I also own 4 iPods. So thanks for 'educating' me about how great the apple products are.

I am not a little kid loser who 'goes to war' with internet people over his gadgets. I don't have an Android...I just found it pretty odd that you were immature enough to call it a 'gaydroid'...even though it outsells Apple and dominates the market. It again shows you're just CLUELESS about this stuff.
