Hmm.. Not sure how much new headlight housings run, but can I claim it against insurance or is a
stipulation of car insurance state that the car cannot be modified ?? or the damage be a result of modification? Although you can claim loss of money if modified parts are damaged in an accident..
Kind of stupid if it is.. I can modify my house and my homeowners insurance continues to cover it
Any ideas?

Hopefully, they are not melted
If so, somebody here emailed me with the same issue. He said that Hoen was very helpful but they did not need to do anything for him because his Audi service advisor warrantied the repair.

https://forums.audiworld.com/rs4b7/msgs/55898.phtml</a

They are melted :) And I think the bulbs are melted in place.. Do I just take it to audi
and play dumb ? Or do I tell them I put in aftermarket bulbs and it melted the housing.
BTW, the melting is only to the point where its tough to pull the city lights out (havent tried pulling very hard tho).. the housing is not completely toast and there is no reason to fix it other than cosmetics as the city lights add no functionality (one of the city lights is blown and so wont be doing any more damage).
