How does Audi service stack-up against the other premium brands?
In general, how does Audi service stack up against the other premium brands? A friend of mine gave me **** for buying an Audi stating "I paid a premium price for Volkswagen service." Sadly, I'm beginning to wonder if he's right. While I haven't had any problems w/ my RS4 nor has it reached its first service interval, my brother who purchased his new Audi from the same dealership a few months ago is getting terrible service. They've cracked his windshield, they don't follow through on their commitments to get back to him, and they don't return his phone calls, just to name a few issues. We had some minor repairs required on my wife's A3 last fall and had some similar experiences with the same dealership.
Is this a problem with my dealership or is it more of a systemic problem w/ Audi? Until recently we were all loyal BMW fanatics and we always received great service from our local BMW dealership.

2nd, my dealer is the main reason I'm still calm about the car sitting in the......
shop. They have gone out of their way to keep me happy. Free oil, appointments at the drop of a hat, first class service and always friendly. I would have to give most of that credit to my service manager and sales rep but in general they have all been great.

That's great. But, you payed allot for a car that is sitting instead of being driven.

Yup, but I'm out of town this week anyway. Great timing if they can fix it........
And the truth be told, I don't think I would have taken it on this trip anyway.

It's an afterthought, like they exist reluctantly, in general, comes down from up top...
being part of the corporate VW group, I'm sure that has something to do with Audis generally crappy service depts and experience. That really should not be the case with a luxury brand, but it is for the most part, IMO.
