new front rotors @ less than 4k miles!

because I did this to the original set:

<img src="http://homepage.mac.com/lvelano/.Pictures/random/BHF06/IMG_2458.jpg">

it doesn't show up too well on the pics but I scored one rotor pretty badly and the other slightly because of carelessness. On my 2nd to last session of the weekend at a DE a few weeks ago, I foolishly went a few more laps longer than I should have and let the pads wear down to the backing plates. DOH! Please, no more reminders of how much an idiot move this was. Caught up in the heat of the moment kinda thing... "I bet I could get around 7 or 8 more laps out of these bad boys" lol. yeah right. I've already paid the price by coughing up $$ for a new set.

I'll probably get these rotors cut at a decent shop and keep as a spare back-up set for future track days. That, or I'll make furniture out of 'em.

Default its a floating rotor, why not re-use the original hat section

and replace the rotor only?

Default Can't. The rotor and hats come together pre-assembled for the B7 RS4...

one part number for the whole assembly (rotor+hats), one price so no choice in the matter... if there was a way to just order the rotors only separately, then of course I would've done so to save a buck.

Any cracking by the holes? From the pics it looks like they held up quite well.

Default I've heard it would take a hell of a lot to crack the holes though people often

like to say **** about rotors that are x-drilled and claim it's all bling bling.

Default At autobahn speeds, it's pretty easy actually.

Especially with cars as heavy as Audis. Go to any Audi meet here in Germany and you'll see plenty of cracked rotors. I've yet to see them on the new RS4 though which makes me believe the brakes are well made.

Are there any BBK available for the car yet? $1100.00 for a set of rotors is a lot of money!

Default Do you know who makes there brakes?

They almost look like Brembo GT's. But the rotor must be custom for audi.
