Its a very wide angle shot. It's going to have a fair amount of distortion regardless of equipment.
Just out of curiosity... what was this shot with?

nice. I will probably do a similar setup when the next 5D comes out (hopefully soon). For now...
I need to find something wider than 16mm for on my 1.6x crop body.

I would keep the camera. :)
And throw away lens only, which is 1.5K only.
No matter how expensive it is there's still a limit of what you can do with it.
By looking at the distortion here:

I would try not to use 16 and step back with at least 18mm. It's not going to be as wide, but at least the key part of the picture would look right.
