Default I know this sounds awful but I never drive my RS4...

I have had the car since 1/28 and have 2800 miles on it. I have a FJ Cruiser that I bought for surfing and a beater but end up driving it more and more.

While I love my RS4 it's becoming a hanger queen, I wax it weekly for stress relief from the job and it looks like a museum piece...but am I doing the car damage by not driving it more? I have a trickle charger on it.

Have not participated much for months as I just closed a series B round and now getting ready to go public and all the pain associated with doing that really leaves little time.

I know this will **** off many, I would have paid a small mint for DSG, that is the other problem the commute from the OC to LA sometimes has me in 2nd gear for tens of miles...so I abstain and take the FJ or 550i.

Lastly, have any of you noticed the gap between where your head lies and the actual headrest? on the 550i it has a neck pillow and adjustable ( fwd) headrest and found that lacking in the RS4, so I had a shop in Redondo Beach sculpt a custom pillow, cover in matching leather and piping and it attaches over the headrest and provides fantastic comfort. I would post a picture but all my cars are in the garage avoiding the fallout from the fires surrounding us here in OC.

Be well everyone.

Default Homework Assignment: Find alternate route to office...

...and drive RS4 at least once a week (if not more).

Your dead on regarding the Recaro's neck support...or should I say, lack there of. Would love to see what you ended putting together.

Default You're not the only one that wishes there was a DSG option.

I would sreiously consider buying an RS4 if it had a DSG option.

Default I hear ya.

for that kind of driving, you're better off going with maximum comfort and minimum effort...Lexus LS460 or MB S550, either one with the adaptive cruise. My wife's dad used to commute from San Juan Capo to Corona every day (several years BEFORE the 241 was built)....not surprising that he's owned 4 Lexus LS cars.

The good news is that the RS4 hasn't depreciated as much as initially thought, so you can probably get a decent deal on a trade-in. I know that M-B in Laguna Niguel makes very competitive deals, FWIW.

Don't let the VCs bite.

It is too bad you do not get to drive the RS4 more. I hear ya about the traffic though.

I am moving back to LA late next year (to start a family (my family is down there and it would be nice to have their help and support)) and the one thing I dread the most is the traffic.

As for the headrest gap... you can get a nice Keroppi car-seat pillow from any shop in Monterey Park...

Default After the A Round...

the B Round was all about valuation ( 6 months worth of crying) it was a up round, the round was syndicated amongst several VC firms, all good. Thanks.

I had something made but I considered a nice boa pillow wrapped around the seat.

I have looked at other cars but Bob keeps slamming them so I don't want him after me ( IS-F) lol, C63 just is too busy and I have a deposit on the new M3 but I want SMG III and who knows when that will happen. I really enjoy the RS4...all 300 miles a month...so 3 tanks of gas per month worth.

Besides if I float another car idea by my wife I better have a buttoned up argument of how my " perfect car" no longer does it for me. I just feel guilty that it does not get driven enough....My dealer thinks I am mad at him because I don't come in for service.

Thanks for the kind words guys e.g. the fire.

Default for your needs, the IS-F would probably be more comfortable.

especially if it comes with adaptive cruise, but that car won't be here for another 12-18 months!

i've heard nothing but good things about the new C-class...in fact, I've been flirting with the idea of trading my 750i for a C350 because we're going to be building a new house within the next year or so, and cutting the car payments in half would probably be wise.
