Chip.

We would very much like to offer a chip for this car but the ECU codes are
different from the other model Audi cars. We are working on cracking the
codes but it is still a ways out.

Default Somewhere in my earlier reading there were smiling representations

from an Audi engineer to the effect that: 'we spent three years developing this engine and believe tuners will not be able to achieve signifcant additional gains'.

Mebbe not true, and you can force induction on almost anything, but I am standing well away until there are verifiable reliability/longevity figures. This ain't no undertuned 2.7TT they are starting off with, after all.

Default Thanks. Not hating the tuners, or the suspension mod crew, but none of

them know the bits and pieces as well as Ingolstadt.

If this car works out, I may keep it...by which time I expect there will confirmation/disconfirmation on forced induction mods.

If I had to choose right now between, say, the MTM beast and nyet's B5S4, it would be no contest.

Default agree, and tuners are

always trying to improve on factory. in some cases it's legit. in others it's ill-advised. the big motivator behind it all? money. sell you a product. not to say they aren't enthusiasts, but this is a business, and the old saying still holds true: caveat emptor.

Default I don't think there's anyone in his or her right mind that would pick a B5S4 over the MTM RS4

no offense to Nyet, as he's got a nice car... but yeah, no contest.

It's the cost that is the prohibiting factor for most

Default Well.......there is one Audi tuner out there that has NEVER gone wrong........

Every one of their publicly released products has proven to be a top performer, super reliable, upscale, and of the utmost in quality.

That company is MTM. Everything else is a substitute and that is the plain truth. This is due in large part to the connection they have with Audi. ABT comes close and Milltek does good on their exhausts, but MTM is still the gold standard. Customer support and accesibility in the U.S. is marginal, you will have to pay major $$$$, but as far as the product is concerned, it is the best, bar none.

Default what about non-US tuners?

Wetterauer claims to have a chip that makes 22hp and 20 ft-lbs, though I haven't read any reports about it here...which seems surprising with some people here buying $11,000 interiors, $5000 suspensions, and $4000 exhaust systems (and more). Maybe Wetterauer is full of ****, or maybe they don't sell to customers in the US, I don't know.

Just like some claim to have MTM's supercharger. According to them, there is ONE and only ONE.
