This is the process to do it right:
Tape off surrounding area with a double layer of blue painter's tape. You can pretty easily get this into the fine spaces in between the reflectors and the body.
Now cover your entire car at least to the back end of the front doors to protect from paint dust. Newspaper works fine for this.
Sand reflectors with 100 grit paper then with 400 grit paper. Remove all dust with spray cleaner and allow to thoroughly dry.
Spray with two smooth' even coats of Adhesion Promoter. before it is fully dried, follow with 3 coats primer. Wait about 5-10 minutes between each spray coat. Please note that one "coat" is actually about 3-4 smooth but quick sprays over the surface.
Allow to dry overnight, then sand with 400 grit sand paper. Again, remove dust with water or spray cleaner and allow to dry.
Spray with 4 smooth coats color paint. Follow directions on drying time but do not allow the paint to fully dry between coats. 5-10 minutes between coats is enough.
Immediately follow with 4 coats clear coat.
Allow to dry for 2 days.
Apply rubbing compound , then buff. Follow with a fine polish and buff again.
Do not ever touch the surface with your fingers during this entire process even at the times when the surface is dry. You do not want any oil from your skin to get onto the prepped surface.
You will now have a true professional grade product that will last. And I guarantee, most automotive paint shops wont take this kind of care.

http://www.paintscratch.com</a
