Yes, yes I did.
E90 M3 with the flappy paddle M-DCT. Nicely optioned, Interlagos Blue with silver leather.
No stalling. No clunking. No puddles of oil in my garage. No CEL.
I miss quattro. RWD can get a bit wild at times. It is both a curse and admittedly kinda fun. The I-drive doesn't suck in its current configuration. It really doesn't. That said, I like the RS4 interior better, despite being a dated B6 interior essentially.
I wish my RS4 had been close to reliable as I initially chose it over the M3 last summer. As it was, the problems I had are well known on this forum and unacceptable. I envy those who got good ones.
I have seen as many other M3s as RS4s so despite the national numbers that indicate a much larger number of M3s, locally it is not much different.
I like my M3. It has been great so far.

My RS4 was totalled a few months back and I think Im gonna jump back into a M3 this time around. I had a e46 M3 before the RS4.
Finding the right M3 is my problem, I might have to order one.

I am a purist and prefer three pedal cars. The M-DCT is light years beyond the SMG and much more livable. It does, however, take some getting used to. I think a lot of the problems people report with slipping and rolling and hesitation is that they are trying to drive it like a torque convertor auto. It gets confused when you try that. Drive it like a stick but without the third pedal and it is very nice. You wouldn't slip the clutch for 15 seconds to roll into a left turn with a stick in 2nd gear - don't try to do it with the M-DCT either.
The rev matching is too cool, shifts are video game fast, and it is fine around town. Faster than a stick, but in my opinion, less fun.
I took one off the lot, as I had little time once I got rid of the RS4 to get into a new car. Not exactly as I would have optioned it.
That said, no regrets.
