Default Interior trim in RS4...Swap anyone?

I just found out yesterday my new RS4 will have aluminum trim, and I am not sure how I feel about this. I was hoping it was carbon fiber, but since Sprint Blue is pretty much gone now in RS4 (dealer said there are only about 5 brand new left for sale in US). I didn't really give it much thought to ask when I ordered it, since the dealer said it was same as the black one they had on the showroom floor. Well it will be here shortly and I need to see it if I like it. If I don't, anyone intersted in a trade for carbon fiber?

Default Aluminum is the way to go. EVERYONE has carbon. ;-)

Credit to Sparkhill's AudiWorld B7 RS4 Registry:

Configuration and Option Summary

Interior Trim:
Carbon Fiber (std.) 1429 (73.3%)
Aluminum (5TG) 262 (13.4%)
Myrtle Nutmeg Wood (5MR) 20 (1.0%)
Piano Black (5TL) 238 (12.2%)

Aluminum contrasts nicely with the rest of the interior. Carbon blends in with the interior and gets lost. I think it's wasted on that interior. Give me the aluminum framed carbon in the S6, and that's a different story!

AudiWorld B7 RS4 Registry

Default I have carbon, it's nice, but I'd keep the aluminum.

I ordered with carbon and it looks good, but the aluminum looks good to and now is probably more unique. Everyone is putting carbon in everything, it's almost silly.

I have a feeling that registry is missing a lot of the later cars

Default Re: Interior trim in RS4...Swap anyone?

Hey guys, thanks for the info. I guess I need to see it to really make this decision. I saw something similar in a TT and thought it was a bit gaudy, and I tend to like interiors that are drk and not distracting. Right now my S4 has all black with the dark wood trim, love it, and since I am a 38 year old guy I am not really lookign for a tuner car look with flash and guages hanging all over the place, etc. Will know pretty quickly once the car comes in.

Loder I am in Washington State. I got your email, will get in touch in a couple weeks if I prefer the CF.

Piano black? Never seen this, it isn't listed in my book or on the website as an option either. Is this audi option or aftermarket?
