iPod intergration kit ??? self install possible?
I'm pretty handy with the car, but haven't touched the RS4 ever(my old s4, all up in that one though), i want to install the iPod kit(quoted 180$ from dealer), but they want 600 for labor to install. Anyone do it yet? advice? tips? special tools?

Re: in what sense?
i have used the audi ipod adapter. for my needs it doesn't cut it. when you connect the ipod you can no longer control the ipod directly. you basically have to set it to what you want to listen to, connect it, and leave it alone. i like to be able to flip around between artists and have over 10k songs on my ipod so i need direct control.
for some the way it works may be acceptable. my current solution is a blitzsafe adapter that uses the glovebox connecter (removed my changer and no i'm not selling it). the adapter is ok, but seems to have some line noise issues. sending it in to be looked at today. if it doesn't get fixed i will try another brand of adapter.

Re: dealer is telling me that it controls the ipod thru the head unit, and keeps cd changer.
yes, it does "control" the ipod, but it's very limited. my suggestion, if you haven't already bought it, is to find a car on the lot with the ipod kit and try it yourself. that's what i did and that's how i found out that it's crap.
