Just finished my 4 day spring detail
1. Washed car with dishwashing liquid....yes, dishwashing liquid. Completely strips the car of all old wax. High pressure rinse then dry with Microfiber drying towel
2. Clay bar treatment and re-dry
3. 2-step machine polish with coarse then fine polish using high speed random orbital polisher
4. Quick detailer and re-dry
5.Carnuaba wax top coat.
I've discovered that even after a day or two, the wax is still curing and requires rebuffing in spots. Fortunately I have just left the car in the garage and I am able to buff these spots out as the dried wax appears.
Owning a black high performance car is like being married to a supermodel. She's very high maintenance, but damn she looks good!!!!
Entire process was done utilizing Griot's Garage products.
I suppose I could post pics, but honestly, on a computer screen you really can't tell the difference beyond basically dirty and basically clean so I didn't think it would really matter.

Detailed mine last weekend...

Almost the same process: used all Griot's products but used their car wash and best of show wax. The depth of the color and shine is stunning IMHO. Mugello blue is just as high maintance as black. The pic is after the detail.
