Default Just for those interested in following the perpetual modification of my car...

Mod number 4 of many to come. You just knew this one was coming at one point...

Well here it is. After talking to STaSIS it was decided we would hold off on stiffer springs (for now). In case you don't know I'm running 700 ft/lb linear springs in the front and 1200 ft/lbs of linear springs in the rear. Because I use my car as a daily driver and of its low weight (~3200 lbs in race trim) STaSIS felt it was perhaps time to try on some bigger sway bars. I could always buy stiffer springs later.

So of course I decided to go one further and get the H-SPORT B6-B7 S4 sway bar kit and not settle for their A4 kit. The front bar is 35mm thick and the rear is 24mm thick, both are hollow. The rear offers a two position setting.

Initial driving report :

Unfortunately, today it is pissing cats and dogs here and the rain will continue for several days. However without pushing the car to the limits, I can already tell there is a lot less roll and the steering input/response is faster with faster turn ins. What I have not explored yet is the oversteer characteristics. My car was very neutral with some oversteer possible especially with power on situations with my stock OEM front bar and rear OEM S4 bar. Now I set the H-Sport rear to the stiffest position and we will see soon enough if this makes the car oversteer more or whether the bigger H-Sport front bar compensates for it.

Sorry for the pic quality. Temporarily mounted and hanging to test some other parts that will attach to the front bar (more to come later on that in another post).

Default I would expect your car to oversteer as mad.

If not, then I have no respect for the H-Sport guys. As there is no way they tuned these for 700/1200 springs. They should have been tuned for a standard off the shelf coilover kit.

Please let us know.

BTW, how did you get to 3200? Seats, wheels, battery...

Default Sparco race seat, removal of front pax and rear seats, LW battery, brakes, light wheels...

Aluminum coilovers and perhaps additinonal after market parts like my exhaust.

H-Sports says their kit will reduce understeer and if the rear bar is set to the stiffest position may induce some oversteer.

Now don't forget they use a bigger front bar to compensate for the bigger rear bar and tune it in such a way to get the car to be more neutral.

As for my spring rates they are made to work with the Ohlins to keep a balanced car with a hint of oversteer. Adding the H-Sports should not dramatically change the handling traits of my car but we will see soon enough.

Let us know. All I am saying is that you applied the understeer fix twice. IHMO, wicked oversteer.
