I have searched the rs4 and rs6 archives about this issue, but have found only minimal data on the subject...

Over the last 10 days or so in New England, the temperature has fluctuated between 80F and 40F, and in the last dip to the 40s I had a terrible knocking sound coming from the front wheels as I turned the wheel close to the extremes--kind of like a rubbing sound but I couldn't be sure... Happened when parking, or even sharp highway exits.

Today I am at audi service and the issue has disappeared. It is in the mid 60s at the moment, and the service crew thinks the suspension is normal, physically and mechanically.

Could this just be a temperature effect? Would the viscoelastic damping properties change this dramatically in only a 40 degree swing, or am I likely looking at the beginning of DRC issues that aren't quite manifesting yet? Maybe I'll start looking for info on the composition of the fluid...

Has anyone had this issue and/or linked it with temperature fluctuation?

after persuading them to look harder at the DRC, they found a leaky right front shock and are ordering a new one... now I am more confused about drc...
