Default Launching...

Alright so say you pull up to a traffic light and theres an STI or a carrera or what have you that pulls up next to you... and well you want to whoop him off the start. How high do you guys hold your RPMs when you launch? Also at what rpms do you shift into second?

Default Launching...one man's opinion

1. I Generally try not to be goaded into stoplight races with jack-o-tards in STI's, EVO's, or 'YO YO that's the V-tech kickin in' ricer mafia types.....unless there's more than three of them in the car and they all have excessive hair products..then its ok...However I do like a good launch:

2. I usually hold revs @3500 or so and do a quick clutch drop...and stay WOT so it doesnt bog....some of the mags/testers have launched at much higer revs for better times but it probably isn't so good for your drivetrain...although one or two here and there is prob ok.

3. I have a much trickier time doing a full throttle 7-8k rpm upshift from 2nd to 3rd and would like to hear how people manage that upshift...I often bog out that one which is frustrating...particularly on the track.....
