Default more anecdotal evidence that the TT is a chick magnet...

Happened for the 6th time yesterday after a softball game. It usually goes like this: 1) jaw drop/wide eyes 2) place hands on car/hug it 3) Ask to see the inside 4) ask for a ride 5) make some statement as to the car being a chick magnet/ask how many girls I pick up with the car

I've only had the TT since february...and most girls surprisingly know what is. Ask them if they know what an S4 is and you'll probably get a blank stare. Most girls don't care how many WHP you have. They care about the exterior and the interior. Get them to sit inside the TT and they're hooked! I've also got the James Bond comment at least 3 times. And yes, I know the TT is not a DB9, but I'm not going to correct a woman that says that any time soon.

Probably my favorite statement was when my teammate and his girlfriend came over to look at the car after the game. He had a tricked out camaro SS with god knows how many HP compared to the TT. He said something like, "I could've bought a TT. My choices came down to the camaro and the TT." To which his girlfriend responded as she was pointing to my car, "And you bought the camaro when you could have had THAT!" I just kept my mouth shut lol.

I've only ever had one woman tell me she didn't like it. It was my ex and I bought it right before we broke up...later she told me she was just jealous I would pick up other girls with it She later admitted she loved the car and her only complaint was that it was hard to reach back and get the seatbelt!

It also helps that I'm a young good-looking professional (if i don't say so myself, haha), so yes, the driver does have an impact on the overall impression the car gives.

Default I remember when I first got the TT back in '99... I would get tons of comments on it

is that a:
BMW?
Porsche?
A8?
VW Bug?
PT Cruiser?
What is that thing?

Also, I recall even Ferrari owners gawking as they drove by. I went to a BMW track event in May of '99, most of them had never heard of the TT and I must have had a crowd of 50 surrounding me when I first drove up. The men said, "I have TT envy" and the women said, "I have TT lust".

The one annoying thing was, I would literally stop traffic at times when in slow moving traffic as people gawked. Or, I would come back to my parking spot and I would notice finger print marks on my driver's window. That, my friend, was the effect of the TT when it first came out - an INSTANT classic.

So there... go ahead a be jealous that your car is uglier than Audis that are several years old and never live up to the reputation of the RS2 or B5 RS4.

Default that's how it was when I first got mine.

crowds of people standing around it whenever I returned from shopping somewhere. weirdos asking about it at the car wash. that only lasted a year or so, though.
