lubromoly is relatively unimpressive . . . but I'd get the voll synthese
Energy conserving = thin.
If you want another german oil . . . check out Pentosin High performance Pentosynth. ECS & autobahnfluids carry it.
You can also go motul 8100 5w40 or 0w40.

I just changed the oil in my RS4 and used AMSOIL, synthetic european car formula, meets Audi Specs. I have used Amsoil in all my cars for years, no oil is better IMHO.

Amsoil is a relatively small operation and I don't know if they even conform to API, which means they would be under no obligation to meet to those stds.
Anyway, they are an indie and although I have heard people swear by Amsoil, like yourself, I have never used it in my cars...just not willing to take the chance, I guess.
As for "approved", I don't believe they are listed on VAG's approved oil list, and any 502 mention by them could be erroneous.
JMO.

Speaking of oils, what is your impression of Mobil 1 'Extended Performance'?...
It seems ideal for Audi's(and others) longer 10k intervals, but I am skeptical. 5w-30 would meet spec.

Be careful, see post lower down this page from a couple of days ago..
The container label and their website says the Amsoil is "recommended for" vehicles requiring VW 502.00 -- it does not state that this oil is 502.00 compliant.
I'm sure it's a fine oil but as far as I can tell from other posts on this topic it's not on the official VW/Audi approved list for 502.00
