Default Milltek downpipes

I had the Milltek downpipes and catback on my B7S4. The car sounded good an made more power for sure.

I'm going to go w/ the cat-backs on my RS4. I'm not sure about the DPs though. Combined w/ the catbacks they might be too loud on the RS4. Thoughts?

Also, Stramo claims 20hp by switching from stock exhaust to the Milltek catbacks. Is that at the wheels or crank?

Does anybody know the power gains by going w/ the Milltek DPs?

Thanks,

Default Your answers....

There is absolutely no published information anywhere on any power gain for the Milltek downpipes, not even from Milltek itself.

The power gain from the catback is substantial. Claimed 20hp has been independently dyno tested and confirmed, at the wheels.

This power gain is for non-valved system, Both resonated(published by Milltek) and non-resonted (independent) have shown similar results.

Lol... Isn't it kinda suspicious that they have a hp claim for the CB but not for DPs?

Default Yes it is......

My guess is that there is a gain of a few hp but not enough for them to justify the $2000 cost. But that is just my guess.

Thanks Vijay. I agree that $2k is a lot to spend unless there's a significant confirmed perf benefit. I even worked with a local distributor to get numbers but even they couldn't get me an answer. One the B7S4 they definitely made a difference and thus my interest.

Default Normlly DPs offer bigger gains than the exhaust.

In this case, I am not sure. Audi may be using high flow cats already.

Are you really going to get rid off the switchable OEM exhust for Milltek?

I am thinking that if Igt the RS4 and then isntalled nd exhaust and coilovers that I just killed the eason I got a tuned car to begin with.

I am torn between buying and tuning S4, or buying and leaving alone - RS4.

Racecar is great. I'm taking this year off from racing though. I just need a break from it all (the pre-race weekend thrashing, repairing/moding the car, etc., etc.) It's nice. But I'll be back at it next year and am will be out at the track just to hotlap from time-to-time in the racecar.
