when I saw it today my guess was 5K tops...nope, 24K!
Cars today are just so expensive to repair. It was the other guys fault but he is disputing it...USAA is good but still sucks, the car is 8 months old.
They had a RS6 in the shop, they said that was a 19K "fender bender". I told the guy pointing at my car so how long if it were mine..he replied yours is 45 days ( 550) that Audi out there would be 3-4 months at BEST!
They're a well regarded BMW/Audi/Lambo factory repair and collision center but I think I may junk the 550 and get her a Q7 or RangeRover after this....too many poor drivers in California.
Anyway I'm venting.

I had a 25K Bimmer repair too
2003 E39 M5. It was hit by a crack-smoking a-hole w/ no insurance while PARKED at a restaurant. Both front fenders, both front wheels, both front tires, hood, front bumper, some suspension components, door, mirror, and whala! Eight weeks later and about a dozen trips to the shop, $25 Large. The good news is that the car came out better than it went in, thanks to a fantastic paint job.
I believe that crash took 3-5K off the selling price as well. Most people don't want a crashed car. But if repaired correctly, no problem. Trouble is, there's just too many crappy repair shops out there, giving the whole industry a bad rap. Sorry to hear about your 550. That's a really nice car.
