Default Natural Engine Vibration at 1500 rpm?

I experience a vibration in my RS4 (25000 miles) through the pedals, and also the steering wheel, when stationary as well as when moving, at around 1500 rpm (plus or minus 300rpm). It is a high frequency vibration that does not feel particularly pleasant, but I have been told by my Audi dealer that other RS4s do this as well, and that it is a natural engine vibration. It does not feel like one to me and I wondered if anyone else has experienced anything similar. It is so off-putting that it virtually ruins the driving experience, but I don't know what to do now the dealer has told me it is normal/OK.
