Default bmw's official claim is....

5.3 [5.5] for the 335i coupe [automatic]
5.4 [5.6] for the 335i sedan [automatic]

Default Just don't like the look of the new 3, M or not

The M looks better than the normal coupe but this just reaffirms my choice to go for the RS4. I bet the performance will be close to the RS4 possibly even better. Don't care because BMW has just gone in a different stylistic direction than I care for. The RS has plenty of performance for me, great style and creature comforts for even the richest tastes. Kudos to us!!

There's no way 5 seconds would be true.

Default don't like it

I was thinking of waiting for the new M3 and now i'm very glad that I didn't. The RS4 is much better and meaner looking. The M3 has similar lines as the 6 series...which is way ugly in my opinion.

Default I don't think it will be that slow, but.....

it won't be that much faster than the RS4, if at all. My guess is 4.1-4.4 compared to 4.3-4.6 0-60. Doesn't look nearly as distinctive as the E46 M3 however. The car to really keep an eye on however is the upcoming Lexus IS500. Supposedly about 420 hp with 400lb-ft torque. That's a car with a beautiful design and with the wider fender flares, it'll definitely be a hot ticket. Still, no manual transmission, but I'm willing to bet that if those power numbers hold up, 0-60 will be 4 sec flat. Maybe even 3's.

Default They are expecting it to be just as quick as the M5, which some people have gotten a 4.1 out of

But I haven't seen that PS before.

Default Just remember that BMW rates the 335i at 305 HP. BUT

the actual HP is closer to 340. Also the BMW advertised 0-60 time is 5.3 secs. Actual times have been recorded @ 4.8-4.9 secs. I have been reading that BMWs advertised performace and HP numbers ar VERY conservative.
