Default New RS4?

Does Audi plan to re-design the RS4 in next few years? I see some great deals on brand new 2007 Audi RS4 cars now at 10k off MSRP but may wait to see if the come out with a new model.

Default years away

Don't expect to see the B8RS4 anytime before 2011. Hell, it is going to be 2010 before the S4 arrives here.

Also, think about it. The S5 is "here", officially. Try getting one.

If you want an RS4, get one. Production is stopped. I just did and if all goes well, I will trade it for a B8 RS4 toward the end of that model run, too. I figure 2012 or 2013.

Default Hmm...

I think this time Audi will introduce the RS4 on the B8 platform much sooner, before the platform is obsolete. 2012 is 4 model years away...the B8 A4 is here.

Default Haven't they expanded Quattro GmbH in order to bring more RS models to market quicker?

...instead of having to pick and choose?

Default It took almost a year and a half after the intro for US deliveries

I was at the worldwide RS4 reveal in Germany in Feb 2005 and the first US deliveries were in May/June of 2006. So the US market has a bit of a delay compared to Europe before these models hit the streets here.

Even if Audi is introducing the RS models earlier in the product cycle (which they said they will be doing), there's no guarantee they will bring the car here. As of now they aren't bringing the RS6 over. Plus, even the new VW Scirocco won't be coming because of the crappy exchange rate.

The next RS4 will most likely be very expensive in comparison to the current one.

I'd agree with the 2011 model year estimate.

Default We may see flying cars before we see the next gen RS4

Remember once it debuts at a show, It will be about 18 months before we physically see it in the US. I personally don't even want to think about what the Dollar/Euro exchange rate will be in the year 2012 or 2013. Although VWs Chattnoga plant should be online by 2011 so costs might not be so high for them by the time the next RS4 is ready to launch.

Default That's the way it's been...

and maybe it will continue that way. I think 2001 MY for US is probably right. Unless development is accelerated for Europe.

Now, you say Audi may not bring it for this reason or that. That would mean giving up prestige to BMW, among others. I don't see the logic in that.

The exchange rate affects BMW and AMG just the same. If Audi delayed or cancelled RS models for NA market, that would be a corporate decision, not one of feasibility or development schedules.

I'm also not sure the jury is in on bringing the VW Scirocco here. I've heard it killed and then revived, from Winterkorn.
