Default newest RS4 bill....over $5000.00:(

So a couple of days ago I hit the mother of all pot holes. Front drivers side wheel is totally screwed. I went to the dealer and ordered the following:

1) New RS4 RIM: $450.00
2) New P-Zero Tire: $500.00
3) Winter RS4 RIMS: $2,000.00
4) RS4 Winter Rubber: $1,500.00 (estimated)
5) Oil Change: $150.00 (estimated)
6) Check/Replace Brakes: $300.00 (estimated)

Total Bill w/estimated parts: $4900.00 + Labor

Man this car is getting expensive....what winter rubber should I get?

Default that sucks. but checking brakes is going to cost you $300? does not compute...

a set of front pads alone are $400-500 and the rears are $250-300 and that's just parts w/o labor to replace. And that's assuming the rotors don't need replacing. But just to check the brakes alone shouldn't cost $300... in fact it should be free like an oil change is free at 5k miles.

As for winter tires, get Dunlop wintersport M3's if you want to go through blizzards and lots of snow and ice, but since you're near the metro NY area where the roads are well maintained even when it snows, even all seasons would be fine.

FYI. They are charging you nearly $700 more than Tire Rack for the rubber.

Check the Dunlop SP WinterSport 3D @ Tirerack Approx. 1 kilobuck before TPMS.

Default Both. Pirrelis should be $350ish. If your roads are that bad the 18" wheel might be a good option..

you get more sidewall and better snow performance. Someone has already posted pics on the forum, TireRack combo less than $1300 wheels & tires.

Default High bill? any problems? The solution:

leave them behind in 0-60 4.7 seconds AWD

watch out for that pot hole!

Default Yeah....people sometimes overlook the fat that.........

maintenance and ownership costs on an expensive car are also expensive. It doesn't just stop with the purchase.
