Default News on the supercharged RS4 Plus yet?Sparkhill, can you

develop a tin foil turbo upgrade for us?

I don't even have the car yet and I need to start thinking of upgrades.
It's like I bought a PC and not a car:-)<ul><li><a href="http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&amp;file=viewtopic&amp;t=5 5127">http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&amp;file=viewtopic&amp;t=5 5127</a</li></ul>

Default ...

Sorry, let me clarify...

I believe one plan being considered by Audi is to use a different version of the 4.2 with lower compression ratio and then supercharge it. They are doing this with some other engines/models.

There was a recent write-up somewhere(can't remember where exactly) that said Audi is definitely moving in a trend towards smaller displacement engines, but turbo and super charging across the engine lineup as a means to have the power but get better fuel economy at the same time. I think BMW was also said to be considering this philosophy.

You'll see it with the European models first.

Default I would actually like to see that, but expect we will see a high performance Audi

turbo diesel within 5-10 years.

Default You think it will take that long? What was the timeline from using FSI on the R8

till production? 3-4 years?

Default Just a guess. The AW interview reminds me that: diesel fuel ain't cheap, distribution

needs work, we ain't at low sulphur yet, diesel motor development and production is expensive...and like that. I would like performance/economy/torque, and a turbo diesel can provide these things, whenever they happen.

Default Unfortunately, I used all the foil in the house constructing a new hat

You know, one those foil hats to keep the aliens and/or CIA from reading my thoughts. Seems to be working so far.
