No spare tire really gets my goat. Is putting a spare in the trunk a viable alternative?

Default 08 A8 Sport. RS4 was a hoot to drive, especially with MF exhaust. Just a bit too intense given my

competitive nature for daily driver. Will put a deposit down on R10 soon so when the need for speed returns in a year or two, I'll be ready. Thought hard about an S8, but after driving one decided that it was not an especially fast car and for the extra $20k, not worth it. Got the A8 in PB/Linen Beige, sport, premium and a few other options. The Linen beige is a very pleasant surprise, as there were no samples to view. Almost ordered Cherry Black Metallic, but after seeing one in the daylight today, was OK with the Phantom Black choice.

My 08 has a wrench, actually everything you need to change the tire except a jack.

Default Luckily this didn't happen to you on a road trip 100s of miles away from home

This shows how the RS4 only appears to be a good daily driver until you get stranded on the side of the road due to a simple thing like a flat tire.

Default nice! definitely post some pics.

one of these days I'm going to get an A8/S8...I've been saying that for years, but something always gets in the way. keep in touch...don't forget about us lowly B7-ers!

Default um no.

i was able to limp home (tire failed about 2 miles from my house), but I had to stop and refill with the compressor once. part of the problem is that the compressor will overheat if you leave it on for more than 6 minutes. the whole thing is just a pathetic waste, including the TPMS itself (which never alerted me, even though I was practically driving on the rim), IMHO.

Default Not certain about the functionality of the TPMS system whatsoever......

Inflated my tires to 40 psi and set the TPMS. A few months later, I go to re-inflate and all 4 tires are at 35/36 and the TPMS never signalled anything. I think the way these modules operate, they can only sense an acute change in pressure. A slow drift over time will not be sensed. Also, I wonder if there is some threshold below which the pressure needs to go for the system to activate.
