So the RS4 is a masterpiece, and perhaps the benchmark for AWD uber sports sedans, and many try to copy, so we are left with a few manual trani V6 powered sedans, and most are forced induction, would anyone consider the cheaper 2008 SAAB TURBO X:

...I know its only 280hp, and I know its a GM, (but made in Australia), but impressive AWD system (with eLSD) and worth a look, esp if you like Darthvader's black on black treatment.
Other competitors:
--BMW 335xi/535xi
--2009 Audi A4/S4
--2008 MB C300 4matic (no manual)
--2008 Infiniti G37/M35 AWD Sedans
--2008 Lexus GS 300 Awd (no manual)
--2008 Subaru STI
--2008 Mitsu Evo 10
--maybe 2009 Volvo S60/R<ul><li><a href="http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/sedans/112_0805_2008_saab_turbo_x/index.html">http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/sedans/112_0805_2008_saab_turbo_x/index.html</a</li></ul>

I don't know...
It's a swedish design, IIRC, not GM Australia(Holden). Sure you aren't thinking of the new Holden/Pontiac G8? Also, the "impressive" AWD is Haldex, which is not so impressive.
This is a big step in right direction for Saab though...from their mediocre 9'3 sedans of recent years. I like it, but overpriced for the power and what you get, IMO.
BTW, for those who are tagging Saab designs as GM, Saab used GM transmissions in past, but that's about it. The styling has been independant swedish the whole time. Saab currently does share some running gear with the Euro Cadillac BLS however.

Re: very ugly... too much gm styling showing through
Aside from the GM supplied Saab Suv's, where are you getting this "GM styling showing through" stuff?
Saab sedans/coupes/wagons have always been quirky Saab designs, very independant from other makes...especially regarding styling. So is this new one.
Give them credit for going their own way and sticking to it. It is an evolution of the 9'3 design and a definite improvement, IMO.
