Off Lease RS4s
When will the first RS4 leases be ending? I was talking to my guy about getting me a car, an 06 RS4. He suggested an S4 or A8, but I am really interested in an RS4. I was wondering when they will be showing up in the auctions when their leases end? There is no way for me, college student, to afford an 08, so I am looking at the off-leased RS4 depending on availability.
I will be calling him tomorrow,(if I get my blackberry working), so if anyone can help me out it would be appreciated.
Thanks,

June 2008
There were no 2006 RS4's sold in the US. The first cars arrived June 2006 (MY 2007) and some opted for 2 yr leases. I extended my lease by one month (25 mo total) and my car went back July 10, 2008. The most common lease term was 3 yrs, so lots more will be showing up next summer. Several lease returns have already been through auction.
Here is a small sample showing one lease car:
07/25/08 MANHEIM Regular $51,300 14,448 Avg Charcoal 8G Yes
06/26/08 MANHEIM Regular $53,700 9,549 Avg BLACK 8G Yes
06/19/08 RIVRSIDE Factory $52,500 8,098 Avg YELLOW 8G 6 Yes
06/19/08 DET METR Regular $48,500 19,995 Below GREY 8G 5 Yes
06/18/08 W PALM Regular $54,600 6,177 Avg YELLOW 8G 6 Yes
06/10/08 ARENA Lease $59,500 2,066 Above BLACK 8G 6 Yes
Auction cars come from all different sources with lease returns being just one. Historically, Audi RS prices fall in a step-wise fashion: drop, level, drop, level, etc.

Thanks, I was thinking those released in 06 were 06, but you're right.
Guess i'll have to pass on a new audi for another year, or just go for an A8...
Thanks for a solid response

The Rover belongs to the wife. I am driving the Tacoma for now - it is a big downgrade from the RS4. I have a Aug 21 completion '09 997TT ordered, but who knows what will happen between now and when it arrives in a couple of months?
I wanted German, turbo, AWD, non-SUV, and sporty so the options were pretty limited. I had originally planned to purchase the RS4 at lease-end, but a couple of issues came up and I decided to extend my lease by one month instead. By the time I had to make a decision regarding the RS4, prices had reached a point where the lease-end purchase no longer made sense. So the RS4 is gone and the 997TT is probably coming.
