Oil In Cylinder 1

Good one Reggie, that's a rather common problem and could account for some of the problem. People usually see a puddle of oil under the car when that happens.

Loosing so much oil - saw a problem over at AW that you should look at too:

I've requested AoA assistance before approving 50+ hours diagnosis and estimated repair time. ( Oh, + parts )

Seriously good idea. Authorizing 50hrs is precisely what the stealership wants to hear: the proverbial blank check. Good luck, keep us posted. Very interested to hear what develops.

Updated Last Night:
The shope foreman had me come by and take a look inside cylinder #1 with a digital borascope.
He showed me an example of what the bore should look like and then showed me what the bore in cylinder #1 looked like.
Cylinder #1 looked " etched " even pitted almost.
Their stand is that whatever chemical was used to perform the carbon service, is what caused the " damage " as seen inside the bore.
I thanked them for their time in showing me their findings ( and NOT tearing the entire engine down yet ) and left.
On my way home, I started thinking... IF it was the chemical that was used... why wasn't it in ALL or at least other cylinders too? AND , why wasn't wasn't there damage to the head / intake area where it was applied and allowed to soak ( directly ) vs over spray so to speak.
Anyways, with it being " outside influence " it would be 100% on me to cover the cost of the long block.
@ $25k+ , I'm thinking I should start looking for a stroker / super charged engine replacement, no sense in replacing it with exactly what's in it now, right? ( Half Joking )
More to follow,
S
p.s. The shop that performed the carbon service is contacting their shop insurance company regarding a possible claim. ( I still have questions regarding the failure to think it's 100% the carbon service that " caused " it as MANY other cars have had the same svc performed, not counting all the ones online, etc )

FWIW, you may want to check out
http://www.autoshoppingcenter.com/Vo...block_3.6.html
I've never used them but maybe others know about them?
See the entry on the bottom: $10,600. Not great but less that $25k (if you don't count labour costs).
Also, just wondering about your CC, did they use chemicals or walnut shell blasting?
Either way, they may have left a valve open for cyl 1 and some chemical or shells breached into the cylinder? If they didn't clean it out before starting up, could it possibly have damaged the coating...?
Man, that sucks. I feel for you.
