Old as May but just one more in a never-ending line of good reviews on the RS4.
I unlike most of you am not currently driving a sports car. I haven't owned one since the mid 80's. I need a four door that can be my daily driver, haul the kids around and yet put some fun under my right foot. I shopped hard and couldn't find a better match for the money. I don't understand some of the negative post I keep seeing. I drove the M3, S4 and all it took was a ride in the RS4 to seal the deal. For a four door sports sedan in this price class, it has no competition. Sure better cars may be in the works but TODAY it IS the car to have. I am jealous of all you lucky bums that are now driving one.
(So the RS4 roars and behaves like a race car, yet it still somehow manages to be civilized. You can take this car to the track, kick some ***, and then go pick up your date and have her ride in complete comfort. )

http://cars.ign.com/articles/707/707348p1.html</a

Well not to burst your bubble...
But I don't take anything seriously from IGN about cars. Videogames maybe, but cars?
I am shopping the RS4. But what about a review from Automobile mag like this one below, which is hardly fully glowing.
It reads like a giant complaint until it gives some praise towards the end.
Supposedly I will be test driving one later next week, the dealer has none for me to drive at the moment.
I would like to be convinced, and so far I think the only way that will happen is if I can drive the car and it delivers.

Take note that the review you quoted...
Is on a preproduction car. I remember reading that review a long time ago, possibly last year. There are little quirks that are pointed out about the car in all the press from last year (see the C&D article comparing to the M3 and MB from last summer).
I don't think it's fair to really weigh the press on the car until production cars are reviewed. I'm sure the US magazines will have articles next month, as press cars are doing the rounds. The European reviews have been pretty positive (see the Top Gear segment for example).
But yes, I wouldn't put much stock in an IGN review

I don't but as I said it is only one of Many all good that I have read.
The car does have a history as listed in the hard copy only of eurotuner covering the Rs3, RS4 and RS6. By all means drive the car for yourself. That and only that should make your choice.
The link is only a SMALL PART OF THE STORY!

http://www.eurotuner.com/</a
