Default Puddle under car... DRC

One of the suspension lines is busted... there's a puddle of fluid under the car. It's not leaking anymore probably because it's pressurized, no?

Is the car drivable a short distance to the dealer, or is this a tow situation? Not sure what to do or expect here but naturally I'm thinking about getting coilovers now... if this happens again it's not worth fiddling with a faulty system to get only half-decent results.

If the weight of the car shifts, then so could the pressure, and more fluid could be excreted thus causing the entire system to run dry, right, so I take it the answer to my question is "you need a flatbed"?

or, can I just order the line and swap it in my driveway and save the cost of the tow versus the cost of the replacement? The system would have to be recharged still, no?

Default Unfortunately the system is already in a depressurized state...

which means that there will be some decent repair cost and time to get the DRC system up and running. The system needs to be bled with the proper Audi tools and may require a central valve to be replaced. I would tie the line up as best as possible, it will likely leak more oil out of the system. You can drive with the system depressurized, many RS6 owners are already doing this unwittingly.

If you find that you do not receive warranty assistance or you would like to rid yourself of these types of failure we are currently still running a suspension special...

The central valve ALWAYS needs to be replaced after a leak

you paid for 24-hour roadside assistance for 4 years when you bought the car...use it.

Default Somewhere on the RS6 forum...

there is a great posting regarding what steps need to be taken to properly repair DRC. I think it was posted by Dr. Aronis and will try to search for the link or my bookmark later tonight.
