Rain sensing wipers?

Re: Rain sensing wipers?
Is not the first position intermittent?
Anyway, the rain sensing feature works off an electric diode which senses light clarity on the surface of the windshield, and will activate the wipers, in an intermittant manner, as a result.
It's not a matter of wiper action speeding up, but rather an automatic feature controlled independantly.

The sensor works in all intermitient positions....
The control stalk must be put up one click to intermitent. Then the intermitent control inside the stalk sets the sensitivity.
So the bottom setting isn't very sensitive and the top is very sensitive.

I think we all are talking about the same thing..
Try this:
STALK: Starting with the stalk in the lowest position, move the stalk UP ONE CLICK.
SENSITIVITY: On the stalk there's a thumb toggle. Starting with the thumb toggle in the lowest position, move it up at least one click. The higher you move it, the more sensitive (wipers sweep more frequently) it becomes to the rain collecting on the window.

That's the std intermittent feature and frequency adjustment. I thought he was taking about rain sensor feature, which is an entirely different animal.

Got it, there's *two* switches.
Coming from two other cars with rear-wipers, I ignored that inner **** thinking that's what it did. Today I realized that does something else on this car thanks to the manual, haha
