Default Recently installed Magnaflow cat-back system =)

Here they are...some pics of my recently installed Magnaflow exhaust system. I must admit, I was pretty reluctant to go with Magnaflow at first, since most of their products were geared toward American muscle cars and domestic vehicles, but after some research on AW and talking to the folks at Magnaflow, I pulled the trigger last Thursday.

My initial impressions:

-improved throttle response in lower gears
-considerably louder than OEM system at lower speeds (particularly in 1st and 2nd gears).
-high stainless steel quality used in the tips and muffler.
-at higher speeds (60+ mph), the system is not much louder than stock

For the price ($759), you really cannot go wrong with this system. As many of you have pointed out in previous posts, if Magnaflow had gone with the dual oval tips, it would be the perfect system at a reasonable price.

Next up on my TO-DO list:

-KW V3 COs--ordered already
-HRE C21 19x10 (gunmetal finish w/polished 2" lip)--ordered already
-Black optic grille from ecstuning
-GIAC chip
-Stratmosphere short shifter

Default Looks good but was there any way to retain the oval tips

Could you have gotten it with a dual exhaust tip and welded the ovals to it? Just asking in case someone else was interested.

It doesn't look like Magnaflow offers it, but it wouldn't be hard to do.

Default Car looks good!!

I think you bought the car that I ordered. I ordered it in October and it arrived a few weeks ago. They were able to find one for me in December so I didn't have to wait. Pacific (Amir and Chris) treated me very well. Your car looks great. I prefer the oval tips so I ordered GMG Racing's exhaust and downpipes as well as their GIAC chip. I don't know if you want a more aggressive offset after the CO's. If you do, HRE can provide you with one so you wont need spacers. I like the 840, 841, and 847. Sweet ride!!!

Yes, it is definitely possible to retain the oval tips (just not the OEM ones). I'd have to get them custom-fabricated, but welding them on shouldn't be too difficult.

I'll drive it around "as-is" for a couple weeks to decide whether or not the quad-tips are aesthically pleasing to my eyes. If not, then I'll change it out or go with GMG's racing exhaust (which by the way sounds GREAT, and is a pretty decent deal at $1500).

Thanks man! Yeah, I bought the car from Chris (sales manager) and Mark earlier this month. I also bought a Q7 from Harland at Pacific last year, but I guess he has since moved on to bigger and better things. Mark is a great guy though, and Pacific Audi took care of me all the way.

Regarding the wheels, I have always been a fan of HRE for their quality and workmanship. I had a set of 540R on my 996 C4S for 3 years, and never experienced a single problem. I decided to go with the Competition series this time around since they are lighter in weight and won't compromise performance too much, if any.
I'll be sure to ask my dealer about the offset again so I can eliminate the use of spacers. Thanks for the heads-up!

As for the GMG exhaust, it does in fact sound bad-***! (Fabryce took me on a test drive in a black RS4 with it on.) The only drawback is it's in prototype production right now, and they won't have them available for another month or so. If for some reason the Magnaflow doesn't work for me, this will definitely be my next system.

Seeing that there several other RS4 owners in the OC/LA area, we should do a GTG sometime. It'd be nice to meet all you guys. =)

Cheers!
