Default The reviews of the new M3 are in:

Some car magazines have reviewed the new M3, and it appears they are left wanting more :

Notice the comments section in the Top Gear article.

I didn't get "left wanting more" from the TG article.

Default very astute of that TG commentator to mention the 135i....

....THAT's the car that is probably going to blow everyone away. Same engine as the 335i, but in a 200-300lb lighter body?!? And half the price of a M3?!? Arguably better-looking than either the 335 or M3 too...

Default Yes.. that was a bit of hype from me.. TG was the only one that loved it.

But most people commenting on the article had some negatives to say (and that's why I pointed out the comments section in the TG article).

Default Agreed...

...two of the three reviews indicated more interest in a possible CSL model.

Default Nice comments about it in AutoWeek

"BMW says there will be no M version of its entry level 1 Series. As disappointing as that might be for M fans, it appears the German carmaker might not need one, judging by the specs of the new US bound 1 Series coupe."

0-60 in 5.3 seconds. Add programming and LSD...

Default I wonder what they'll do to make it that 'slow'.

the 335i has consistently run 0-60 in 4.8s, and as I said, it's about 200lbs heavier...

they have to be cutting corners somewhere. and i like the 335i coupe's looks better. but that's subjective. i'm not so sure it will be a winner, as hopelessly status conscious BMW drivers may resist "stepping down" from 3 series into the 1.

I agree. Although no RS4 competitor, I think the 135i will be a very cool car.

Default BMW test numbers versus magazine numbers.

I'm sure the mags will get mid-high 4's out of the 135.
