RS4 B7 European Flat Bottom Steering Wheel COME GET Them !!
Here is an email sent to me today from Alexander van Gerbigis of STaSIS Engineering.
I made the 5 order so after this weekend the order goes in.. That advantage NOW !! If you want one..
Howdy!
We have unfortunate fallen below the 10 mark as previously stated to those of you in the group purchase. Pricing we
are at:
RS4 B7 European Flat Bottom Steering Wheel - $640.81 each
RS4 B7 European Round Airbag - $657.58
For this level I have received two payments of $50.74 from those of you who want to move ahead. I would need the
extra $50.74 from the two others who have already purchased. For those of you who have yet to purchase the above price
is as it stands. I need one more payment to hit the 5 mark and then I will be closing this purchase finally. We lost
one buyer and are now at 4 and require 2 participants to send the additional payment and one to purchase in full.
If you have any questions or other needs just let me know.
Cheers!

I would bite, but I'm still unclear on the safety issues...
Has anyone spoken to an RS tech to see what the deal is?
I'd love to improve the wheel, but not at the expense of my head/face/life...

Has there ever been any test of the airbag funtion with this wheel and US spec. RS4?
Specifically with the US CPU in our cars:There is a definate change in the CPU cod due to the variance in wheel button and roller controls. Do you give up the ability to use the phone controls? I don't want a "poser" steering wheel that "looks" but doesn't work. Not to mention losing a primary safety system.

I'll probably get flamed again...
The Euro wheel has been fitted in a US car without airbag error codes, but the airbag has not been formally tested. It will probably work.
AFAIK, the buttons on the Euro wheel have not been made to work in a US Car. The Euro wheel has an S button and volume controls plus one other. You do lose the functionality of phone control with the Euro wheel.
The wheel is very, very, tempting. If somebody tests the airbag and gets the Euro buttons to work, I may eventually buy the RS4 wheel. For now I am holding out to see if the new TT flat-bottom wheel might preserve some of the functionality and be a simple plug-and-play install.
