RS4 or E90 M3?
I'm not really brand loyal, but I MUCH prefer the look, interior and understated design of the Audi. It's just classic.
However, I like to drive at the track a fair amount (I do have a full-fledged race car, but this would see some track duty), and the M3 obviously is a more fun, oversteering track car.
Have any of you had much success with just some simple, understeer-reducing suspension mods (i.e. bigger rear anti-roll bar)?
Can you get the RS4 into a 4 wheel drift, or does it just pull itself straight like in that 5th gear episode when compared to the E46 M3?
Thank you very much.

Well, Jason Plato and Tiff Needell are far better than any driver on this forum...
so I'd trust their comparison of the two over any internet jockey here.
Unlike Clarkson, those guys can really drive.

You want the M3.....
The RS4 is a far superior street vehicle. Its performance is far more accessible and you can drive it at the limit with a far greater margin of safety than the M3. On a twisty mountain road, for example, this gives a huge advantage and peace of mind. At a stoplight drag where you may top out at 60-70mph, the RS4 will win. Even on a wet road, the RS4 will perform in safe and stable manner. In the snow, this car is an absolute blast, where the M3 would have you hanging on for dear life. In fact, the most driving fun I have ever had is with my RS4 on snow covered roads.
But..... on a dry racetrack, the M3 will be the faster, more fun vehicle and it seems that is what you are looking for. On the other hand, an RS4 with Stasis Motorsport suspension might be just the "compromise" (these really aren't compromised vehicles) that would work for you.

Re: You want the M3.....
Yeah, I'm afraid you are correct. I live in Florida, so snow isn't much of an issue (or even curves for that matter...)
The only curves are the 17 carved into an old airfield about an hour from here...
